The first NCVF Mizuno National Rankings were released February 1st.

On the men's side, the Sac State men received an Honorable Mention nod with the top 4 spots going to Viginia Tech (1), Oshkosh (2), UC Davis (3) and Illinois (4).  Other NCCVL teams making the list were UC Berkeley (8) and Fresno State (20).

For the Hornet women, their #15 ranking marks the highest ranking achieved by a Sac State Women's Club team in it's short history.  The top 4 teams in this initial ranking are Michigan (1), Cal Poly (2), Wisconsin (3) and Arizona (4).  Other NCCVL teams making the women's list are Santa Clara (5), UC Davis (16) and San Jose State (21).

Alumni, If you are interested in playing for the Sacramento State Alumni Team at Nationals ASAP. Nationals at at Louisville, KY Thursday April 1st and Friday April 2nd so you will have plenty of time to watch the tourney Saturday for the National Championship.

The second weekend of the NCCVL season has arrive and all three Sac State teams are in action!

First the D1 Men are travelling all weekend.  First, on Saturday the Hornet men are at Chico State for a Noon match.  On Sunday, the D1 Men then travel down to Palo Alto to take on Stanford for a 4:00PM match.  The D1 Men will finally have their home opener the following Saturday.

For the D2 Men open the league season with a pair of home matches.  The D2 Men start at 6:00PM on Saturday by hosting Humboldt State.  On Sunday, the D2 Men will follow that up by hosting NCCVL newcomers City College of San Francisco for a 2:00PM match.

The Hornet Women only have 1 match on their slate this weekend.  Hoping to keep on track after going 2-0 last weekend, the Hornet Women host the always strong Santa Clara team.  Match time is set for Sunday at 6:00PM.

This weekend, The Hornet D1 Men and Women's  teams open their Northern California Collegiate Volleyball League (NCCVL) season.  Both teams have matches schedule for Saturday and Sunday.

The Sac State Men open the season on the raod, first on Saturday against the defending NCCVL and national champions, Fresno State.  The Hornet men  then continue the road trip Sunday to play an always solid Cal Poly team.

The Hornet Women opened the season last weekend with a 5th place finish at the MLK Battle of the Bay Tournament.  This weekend, the women open the league season at home Saturday against the defending national champions, UC Santa Barbara.  Game time agaisnt UCSB is set for 7:00PM.  This is UC Santa Barbara's first year in the NCCVL as they previously competed in the Southern California Collegiate Volleyball League. Sunday, the Hornet women travel for a 2:00PM match at Chico State.
