2005 marks the 25th year of competition for the Men's Club Volleyball Team, while the women look to improve on their success at the NIRSA championships. 2003, Weidi Zhang, after 15 years at the helm, retires from coaching Collegiate Club Volleyball. 2002 brought about the addition of a Women's Division of the NCCVL. Sacramento State therefore formed a women's team to compete alongside them men's teams during the league season as well as the NIRSA championships. In 2001, Sacramento State sent two men's teams for the first time to compete for a NIRSA National Championship. 1995, Sacramento State wins it's first NIRSA National Championship! 1988, Weidi Zhang starts as coach of the men's team. 1980 celebrated the birth of Club Volleyball at Sac State. This team was coached by volleyball guru, Gary Colberg. |
